Dr. Janis Moriarty's practice offers a full array of dental services to help you maintain healthy teeth and gums. We also take into consideration today's concerns regarding disease and radiation control as well as keeping our environment safe.  We follow strict guidelines to help ensure our patient's safety. You can read more about our services and what we do to protect you on this on this page.  See what sets us apart from the rest.

We want to assure you that Dr. Moriarty and her staff understand the growing concern about radiation exposure, infection control and keeping our environment safe.

We are proud to offer digital radiography. This is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. Digital x-rays quickly capture images of your teeth and gums and stores them on our secure, protected and encrypted computer system. Digital x-rays gives our doctors a beneath-the-surface look at your teeth and gums, but with a radiation level that is 80-90 percent less than that of already low traditional dental x-rays. We follow the MA State Radiation Control guidelines as well as the FDA's Center for Devices and Radiological Health. Since the images are captured electronically and there is no disposal of harmful waste and chemicals, digital x-rays are safer for the environment.

We go to great lengths that include annual training to create a safe environment for our patients and our staff. We follow strict infection control procedures as outlined by OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control). We follow universal precautions in our practice which means we take protective measures with every patient to prevent the spread of disease. All instruments, including the hand pieces, are sterilized in an autoclave and all surfaces and materials are thoroughly disinfected  between patients.

Our office follows all MA Dental Board Rules and Regulations. Our patients help us stay in compliance by updating and completing a medical history update form that we will provide to you annually. This form is also available to you on this website.

In 2007 it was recommended by the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and the ADA (American Dental Association) to install a clean water separator system in dental offices to help achieve a common goal to keep our public water system safe and clean. We are proud to  say that our practice recognized this need and was one of the first practices to install this necessary system years before the 2007 recommendation.

We are committed to protecting both your health, the health of our staff and the protection of our environment.
